Iliadis Enters Last House on the LeftGoon
Awhile back word was circulating that Wes Craven was eyeing Dennis Iliadis to remake his classic 1972 film The Last House on the Left. Today Variety has confirmed that Iliadis will indeed be on board to direct from a script by Adam Alleca. Wes Craven is obviously producing under his Midnight Pictures shingle with cohort Marianne Maddalena and Sean S. Cunningham.
Craven says the remake will retain the spirit of the original only with a more realistic tone. The new film takes place when a group of killers inadvertently stay at the home of one of their victim's parents. Craven is expecting to start production early next year.
Adam Alleca was discovered by Craven when Alleca approached him about remaking his other film The People Under the Stairs. He also has another project with Craven entitled "Home". No word about that project. Keep it here for more on that and The Last House On the Left remake.
