Paul Anderson backing 'The Dark'

Although many movie goers now have a hate on for Paul W.S Anderson for his recent film Alien vs. Predator, he really isn't that bad a guy.  His production company, Impact Pictures, is helping to produce the new thriller from Canadian director John Fawcett (who directed the first Ginger Snaps) called 'The Dark'.

The movie, which is based on the novel 'Sheep' by Simon Maginn, follows a husband and wife who lose their daughter to a strange nether-world called 'The Dark'.  It tells of how she came to be in that place and the sacrifices her parents must make to get her back.

Principal photography just ended on August 8th and the film has now entered post-production.  The movie was mostly filmed in London, the Isle of Man and North Devon.  The film had approximately a $12 million budget.

Honestly this movie sounds like it is going to be pretty good.  I have not yet seen Fawcetts other film, Ginger Snaps, but I have heard nothing but good things about it.  I really enjoy Sean Bean as an actor and am really looking forward to this film in general.  We'll be sure to keep you updated on any further news about the movie.
