Scream Farm Zombie Flick Begins Shooting
Posted By : Meh, Friday Jun,29
Filed Under : Indie Horror, Zombie,

Principal photography has begun in Jones, Alabama, on SCREAM FARM, a new horror film from the producers who brought you VAMPYRE TALES and THE DEEPENING (starring Gunnar “Leatherface” Hansen from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and International Scream Queen Debbie Rochon).   In SCREAM FARM, Allied Horror (in association with Nytemare Productions and Wicked Dreams Entertainment) tackles the zombie genre, mixing the classic style of George Romero with the frantic action of Danny Boyle.   “We’re big fans of the classic, slow-moving zombies,” states director Jim O’Rear, “but, modern horror audiences have come to expect a little something extra from the living dead.

So, we’re trying to give them both.”   SCREAM FARM follows a group of students who build a haunted house for Halloween to help raise money for their class trip.  The students get more then they bargained for, however, when they come across a substance in the building that begins turning them, and the townspeople, into flesh-craving zombies.   “We have a cast of fine, young actors mixed in with a few genre veterans,” O’Rear explains.  “It really gives the material a fresh, yet classic, feel.”   Along with veteran actor / stuntman Jim O’Rear (DAY OF THE DEAD, SKARECROW, STAR TREK 4), SCREAM FARM features the talents of Kimberly Lynn Cole (DEAD CLOWNS, CREMAINS), Ted Alderman (DEAD LAST, TORMENT), Deborah Funes (ANGELS IN PARADISE), Maria Kil (VIPER), and newcomers Sarah Virginia Brock, Brit Hunter, Matt Cox, and Michael Barrett.

Most of the filming is taking place at the “real” SCREAM FARM haunted attraction, which is owned and operated by Kimberly Lynn Cole.  “Kim is one of the few people in the United States who runs a haunted house completely for charity,” O’Rear informs.  “One hundred percent of the money raised by her haunt goes to benefit St. Jude’s.  We wanted to name the movie SCREAM FARM, after Kim’s haunted house, hoping we’d bring a little more recognition and attention to her attraction and possibly help raise more money for the charity Kim supports in October by increasing attendance.”   Filming wraps on Friday the 13th, of July.  You can get updates on the production and a preview of the cast by logging on to SCREAM FARM’s MySpace home:
