Insomnia Gets to Rob Schmidt
Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors was going on this past weekend and surprisingly not much has come out of it. But an interesting bit did come from Dread Central who were in attendance about another Stephen King adaptation. Apparently with all the success of 1408, Stephen King is going to be a popular guy once again.
The site reports that Master of Horror Rob Schmidt will be directing King's Insomnia. I'm not sure when Schmidt will pick this up because he also has another project waiting called Bad Meat. So when this movie will actually get going is anybodys guess. From Buick 8 anyone?
The really has a pretty basic plotline that sounds somewhat like the Machinist. The main character has trouble sleeping and begins to see things that he is not sure exist. Soon he enrolls the help of two of his friends to unravel the what is behind the visions that he is having.
On board helping with special effects once again collaborating with Rob Schimdt is Stan Winston. So it sounds like this could be a fun ride. Lets hope this project moves along swiftly. Keep it here for more as we hear it.
