ComingSoon has found the reportedly official site for CloverField. If this is indeed the site it looks like the studio is getting ready to do a big viral push. http://www.1-18-08.com/

Last week Goon first told you about the top secret project Cloverfield. The huge monster movie that at this point has no official word out there yet. Apparently they are trying to keep this movie very hush hush. Actually this movie is being so secretive we don't even really know what the title is really going to be. Cloverfield is something that they are calling the project but it could just be a ruse.

All that aside today AICN discovered that Felicity writer Matt Reeves will be calling action from the directors chair. So far the only feature film he has directed was The Pallbearer and that was done over 10 years ago. It has also been discovered that Drew Godard wrote the script. He has become well known for scripting some of the most popular TV shows ever including Buffy, Lost and Alias.

It all makes sense when JJ Abrams is producing that these guys would all be brought together on this project. Apparently the teaser trailer will be playing before Transformers but I think I will be waiting for it to hit the net. The release date has been set for January 18, 2008 which comes as a huge surprise considering nothing has been officially said about the movie yet. So keep it here for more as we hear it.
