Female Lead for Daybreakers Cast

Today it was revealed by the crazy caffeninated Clint over at MovieHole that Claudia Karvan will play the female lead in Daybreakers. She is a well known actress in Austrailian television. She will be joined by Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe.

"Daybreakers", set In the year 2017, tells of a plague that has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. a researcher (Hawke) works with a covert group of vamps to a band of humans fight back.

Karvan will play Hawke's character's affection as a human named Lucy. We can definetly count on some frenzied action for the Spierig Bros. on this one. Filming is expected to begin on the Gold Coast on July 16th.
