New Cloverfield Website?

Cloverfield has really gone to new limits with its viral marketing campaign. A very smart move that has everyone searching online for more information on the flick. We are not even sure of the title right now. Cloverfield, 1-18-08, The Parasite and now Slusho? Yup the next name for the production appears to be Slusho.

IGN learned that a film shooting in LA was going under the name Slusho. The action that was going to be taking place was said to include: "Exterior dialogue. Driving scenes. Occasional traffic & pedestrian control. Camera & equipment on sidewalk, street and property. 200 extras. Military vehicles. Destruction aftermath. Weapons brandished. Emergency vehicles with flashing lights. Exterior dialogue on fire escape on 8th floor."

Yea that sounds like Cloverfield. So how do we know its Cloverfield for sure? Well the first point is that Slusho is something that Abrams used in Alias as a slushy drink that one of the characters in the show was talking about. To further point out this fact a character in the trailer for Cloverfield is wearing a Slusho T-Shirt seen below courtesy of UGO.

Now look at the logo for Slusho that is found on the Slusho website:

Yea that is definetly not a coincidence. If you look at the Official website for Slusho you will also notice that oddly enough its supposed to be a Japanese website yet almost everything is in English. What is interesting about the website is the history of the drink. Apparently the founder of the company died while searching for the best flavor in the world. Her son later finds the flavor while dreaming after he traveled to the bottom of the Ocean. Hmmm.. Lovecraft anyone?

This is definetly an interesting turn of events but it still does not further anything then what we really already know. Except that maybe we can count on a kick ass Lovecraftian monster to be behind all of the carnage! One can only hope!
