Melissa George Replaces Cuthbert?

This may sound very odd but Melissa George has just signed to star in the film Captive. Now this sounds odd because the title obviously sounds very familiar to Captivity, a movie which flopped hard at the box office. Not only is the title similar get a load of the synopsis which Moviehole also picked up on:

The happily married mother of a 6 year old boy, Jaime Taylor regains consciousness after a bad car accident and finds herself being held captive in a remote waterfront warehouse by the mysterious Vince, a masked killer whose shocking revelations are about to turn her formerly safe and orderly existence upside down.

So what prompted this movie to get the greenlight? Well it sounds as though this one was going to capitalize off of the "apparent" success that Captivity was supposed to have. Looks like they weren't following the actual buzz about the picture. Word is the film is shooting in Canada this month. Don't be surprised if this one gets a title change.
