Zombies vs. Army of Darkness fame! Scheduled for an October release, the hardcover edition collects Raise the Dead #1 through #4 and features a gruesome cover with a "zombified" pop culture classic by Arthur Suydam. Additionally, fans of master zombie painter Arthur Suydam should ask their local comic retailer about the special signed edition with the signature of Arthur Suydam himself!
In Raise the Dead, co-writers Leah Moore and John Reppion have designed a tale of survival and terror in a world being overrun by the walking dead. The oversized hardcover edition contains over 120 pages of story and amazing behind the scenes bonus material, including an introduction by Max (Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z) Brooks, an interview with the Raise the Dead writers, a Hugo Petrus sketch and concept pages, a complete cover gallery featuring the work of Sean Phillips and Arthur Suydam and the complete script to issue #1!
According to Dynamite, "Zombie stories have become a genre all their own, and we're thrilled to be part of the undead action. Having a world class zombie aficionado such as Max Brooks provide the introduction to our Raise the Dead collection is an absolute credit to the creative team and validates Raise the Dead as a top notch zombie tale!"
About working on Raise the Dead, writers Leah Moore and John Reppion added, "Raise the Dead is a dream project for us; we've always fanaticized about doing a zombie series together. Now that our wish has been granted, prepare yourselves for a gloriously gory journey into an America in the grip of an undead plague. Just remember: aim for the head!"
