This is the first pure cannibal film in years. Titled Welcome to the Jungle and written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh (The Punisher) and produced by Gale Ann Hurd (Aliens), this cannibal flick was made compeltely under the radar with only a brief apperance about a year ago.
The folks over at Fangoria learned that Dimension Extreme (man those Weinsteins have been snagging a lot of genre flicks lately) will be releasing the film straight to an unrated dvd in November.
Special Features are:
If you folks are wondering, no trailer. I looked high and low and can't even find a bloody still for this flick. They did a nice job with the hush-hush. Fangoria did get a sneak peek at the film (check out the 'year ago' link), and basically the gore and such was nice and the camera follows the pattern of Ruggero Deodato's brutal classic Cannibal Holocaust with a first person view.
The story follows two couples as they go looking for Michael Rockafeller who went missing in New Guinea in the 1960s. They find part of his fortune and unfortuantly find themselves as the main course for the cannibal feast.
Welcome To The Jungle Unrated hits DVD on November 13 and will set you back $19.95.
