Langella Joins The Box
Richard Kelly's long overdue follow up to Donnie Darko, The Box, has finally began casting. For this film he has managed to nab another big star Frank Langella. The script for the picture was based on Richard Matheson short story "Button, Button."
This film is going to have a rather large budget of around $30 million. The trade appears to point to the success of 1408 to get the studio behind the project. Unfortunately that also means they will be shooting for a PG-13 rating. I've never read the short story however so PG-13 may fit the material.
Cameron Diaz will play a young woman given a mysterious box by a stranger (Langella). She's told that certain things will happen depending on which buttons she presses. Production on the film will begin this fall. Be sure to keep it here for more on this story.
