Depp Owes Career to Wes Craven

Wes Craven implied in a recent interview that if it wasnt for him Johnny Depp would have no career.. more specifically because of Craven's daughter convincing him to cast Depp in A Nightmare on Elm Street because 'he was pretty'.

Wes Craven can lay claim to one thing. He was the first one to put Depp on the map but he is not the reason Depp is a success in my view. Johnny did his thing and showed he has serious talents which MADE his career.

In the interview Craven says that Depp had 'yellow fingers' and that he couldnt act. I dont get the yellow fingers bit, is he saying he showed up dirty? Although I do agree Depp's performnace was not his best.

I dont get the point of the interview and why Wes would do an interview just to make fun of Johnny Depp but at the end of the day Depp gets the last laugh with his explosive career playing quirky characters I for one love to watch.
