Resident Evil: Extinction DVD Details
thegoldensimatarThere have been quite a few various opinions about the Resident Evil movie series, some really dig it, some hate it, some feel half and half. I personally really like the first one, second I like but not as much as something just doesn't seem to jive with it despite everything being there. The third entry though I think is the best of the series.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Russell Mulcahy ( Razorback, Highlander) the film was released in September to better reviews than I thought it would get and grossed quite a bit of cash. However, last I have heard plans for the 4th film were scrapped, but then again with Hollywood anything is possible. Still, I liked the third one.
We were sent the specs by SONY. They are:
- Filmmaker Commentary
- Deleted Scenes
- Alice Vision: Pre-Production Featurette
- The Big Bang: The shooting of Resident Evil: Extinction Featurette
- Bigger, Faster Stronger: The Undead Evolve Featurette
- Vegas Visual Effects: Miniatures Featurette
- Sneak peek of CGI film Resident Evil: Degeneration
The Blu-Ray Disc is packing that load as well as some extra stuff:
- Under the Umbrella: Picture-In-Picture Experiance
- Create Your Own Special Features Playlist
Looks like those of us with Blu-Ray players are gonna be having a ball when the DVD hits. A solid package even for the regular edition. I just hope the featurettes are nice and detailed and aren't just 15minutes of patting on the back.
Resident Evil: Extinction will hit DVD, UMD, & Blu-Ray on January 1, 2008 (day before my birthday so y'all know what to get me) with the regular DVD going for $28.95, UMD for $24.94 and Blu-Ray for $38.96.
