The Fog (2005) Review
Written by: lindseyloveshorror
I initially heard about this movie at Comic-Con back in July. I had never seen the orignal "The Fog", but was excited to see anyways, because I felt that I must see every scary movie possible while its still in the theature. I went into the theature not knowing anything about the plot of the movie, except what had been shown on TV commercials. So, with no expectations of what the movie would be like, I was hoping at least for a seemingly interesting thriller... boy was I wrong...
"The Fog" had a pretty promising plot and the events leading up to the end really set it up for an interesting solving of the problem. The only problem about the events was it was so confusing to understand all the twists that it didnt make you say "Oh!" it just made you say "huh...? Wait... what?". You need some kind of advanced college degree to be able to completely understand the movie's plot on the first try.
The acting was ok... wasnt Oscar worthy or anything, but what do you expect in a PG-13 horror thriller? During most parts of the movie my friend and I just commented on how Selma Blair and Maggie Grace's make-up was really pretty. So if that isnt a hint on how great the movie was, I dont know what is.
The ending of the movie... really really really sucked. Not only did it leave way to many questions, it was just stupid. Once the movie ended and all the people left the theature, you could just hear all the fellow movie goers complain about the movie. In conlusion, its not worth the money, and I regret spending 7 dollars on admission. The movie wouldnt even except coupons to view the movie for 2 dollars cheaper, because the "The Fog" people didnt want theaters to... wow, even the people that made the movie knew that it sucked so much that they tried to make as much money out of it, by not taking coupons, before word got around exactly how horrible it was...
