I heard about this movie and immediately wanted to see it. Since it came out in such limited release where I live, I was fored to wait until the DVD came out. Of course, it was well worth the anticipation and wait.

Saw is about a serial killer named Jigsaw. Now, Jigsaw isnt really a "serial killer" because he does not techincally kill any of his victims, but sets them up in situtaions teaching them the value of their lives. For example, this sick killer takes a man who had previously slit his wrists and puts him in a cage filled with razor wire. Jigsaw explains that in order to live he must cut himself again... for the only way out of the room is going through the wire. I just love the irony of this movie!

The movie focuses on one particular situation that Jigsaw sets up. The situation has two men chained to pipes on the opposite sides of what seems to be a really nasy bathroom. What one man must do is kill the other before 6:00 or his family dies... this eventually leads to the discovery of two saws and the greatest line of the movie and the creation of the name :" He doesnt want us to cut through the chains... he wants us to cut through our feet". Ooh, dont you just love this Jigsaw guy.

The acting wasnt that great, but the plot made up for the lack of acting skills. It not only was a greatly thought out it also had some great twists and turns to it. The only bad part besides the acting, would be the lack of seeing gore. Dont get me wrong, it did have some nice blood squirtage, but I would have really liked to see the guy saw off his foot rather than having them cut it off before anything was shown... or mabye I'm just sick like that. Never the less, it's totally worth seeing and buying on DVD.
