Day of the Dead 2: Contagium Review

3 out of 10 Skulls
Written by: Norrock The Zombie Eater

The original "Day of the Dead" has been one of my all time fav zombie flicks since i first started watching horror movies when i was like 5 years old, When i heard that Romero did not have anything to do with "DOTD2" i knew it was going to suck but i never thought it would suck this much. I had read over tons of reviews on this flick and not one of em said a damn good thing about it. But you know me when i get the itch to see a flick im going to see it no matter what, So i ended up paying $15 bucks for this shit like a dumbass, And do i regret buying?, Well umm no i don't because now i can sleep well at night knowing "DOTD2" truely does suck ass.

Is this movie total bullshit?, Yeah for the most part it is, I did however find a few kool things in it. The Special FX are not too bad, About 85% of the zombie are duds if its not the cheap ass make-up FX that makes them duds then its them talking that kills it. Truthfully the only really kool zombie i remember seeing is the Dr at the end, I must say he looked awesome, He reminded me of a zombie in the original "Day of the Dead" but he still won't as top notch as Romero's zombie. The gore FX are not so outstanding ether, It can't touch anything the original had to offer, I think this flick tries to gross you out with sick stupid shit more then anything else, Like in one scene we find a group of folks in a lunchroom eating dinner, The group of folks are all infected by a virus, And they start vomiting this nasty black looking shit all over there food and they keep on eating it. *Damn i hate to see ppl vomit!! thats one thing i can live without in a horror movie*.

The acting is low-class, From the way they act they all could really be from a mental ward *Maybe its cheaper to pay retards to play in low-budget flicks*. So what it all boils down to is the story, And this is what really kills "DOTD2" off for good. Back in 68 in a military hospital something awful happened, A virus is set louse and it turns just about everyone in the hospital into flesh eating zombies, Some walk, Some talk, Some move fast, Some move slow,. How can this be a sequel/prequel when all those that are exposed to the virus are killed on site, So in this story the dead never rise from the grave and lurk in the dark after folks in a farmhouse "Night of the living dead". From that point on we pretty much skip Romero's whole Dead trilogy "Dawn of the Dead" Day of the Dead" "Land of the Dead". The story goes back to the hospital, It is now a mental treatment center, And one day a group of patients just happens to find a canister that holds the virus. Once they are exposed they all see some sort of magic CGI alien spirit floating around them, Soon after that they all slowly start turning into zombies of all kinds,*Like i said Some walk, Some talk, Some move fast, Some move slow,* What 90% of this movie focuses on is them going through different levels of turning into zombies *Boreing shit huh*.

Well anyway if you make it to the end you well get a little gore treat for watching this non-Romero-related-bullshit. Over all i give "DOTD2" a 3 it was bad, But what made it worse is the name they should have left the words Day of the Dead out because it has nothing to do with it or any of the others. If you are non-Romero fans and enjoy stupid flicks like "Undead" then you might should rent this one. For all you that must know "Day of the Dead is Rated NR for Violence/gore & language. Till next time remember Skulls Never Sleep RIP... *And damn i wasted way too much writeing can't be helped so long*
