The Hills Have Eyes (2006) Review

I am now a breaker of my own rules, I went to watch a remake
without seeing the original, So there you have it i can't
compare what one is better, What i can say is "The Hills Have Eyes
2006" is the kinda horror movie made for the hardcore horror fan, It is
brutaly violent & gory, I can't wait to see the Unrated take of
this movie, What i want even more is to see the original, The originals
are allways the best and i can't believe i've went all these years
without takeing the time to watch it. "The Hills Have Eyes 2006" could
very well be one of 2006's better horror films to come out so far.
Things that makes this a kick ass horror movie, Is the
Acting, Unlike in "TCM remake" or "Wrong Turn" we get characters that
we somewhat care about and hate to see die, So that adds a
edge of your seat feel *Allways a good thing to have while
watching a horror flick*, The FX are done by Greg Nicotero, Who
has done amazing FX work on such horror films as"Day of the
Dead" "Land of the Dead" "Thir13en Ghosts (2001)" and "From
Dusk Till Dawn" the list goes on and on. Over the years Nicotero has
not lost his touch at all if anything hes geting better, Cause we are
treated to some lovely kills done by the world's ugliest mutants ever
seen on screen.
Now to the story, thats what usely keeps us in our
seat, This story seems like its been used one too many times to make a
horror flick, But for the most part it works. In the story we meet up
with a family thats going on vacation, Driving through the New Mexico
desert, At some point they stop to get gas at some little half-assed
gas station in the middle of nowhere, The guy that owns this gas
station (Like in most of these kinda horror flicks) is some
redneck retard, After pumping there gas he tells them something
about a shortcut., And off the family goes takeing
the redneck retard's shortcut driveing into a deathtrap, The
shortcut takes them even deeper into the desert thats surrounded by
hills, Hideing in the hills are many cannibal mutants, The shortcut
does not take this family too far cause the mutants has set a trap for
them. Once they drive into the trap everything goes down hill, Let
the killing begin.
Over all i give "The Hills Have Eyes 2006" a 9. For anyone that must know "The Hills Have Eyes 2006" is Rated R for strong gruesome violence/Gore and language and some sexul content. Till Next Time RIP Skulls Never Sleep.....
