Day Watch Review

First of all, before watching this movie, make sure you have watched Night Watch. The two of them really complete each other... I actually understood better the 1st one after watching the 2nd.... ! So This movie focus more on the Day Watch (the bad guys) than in the Night Watch. Igor is now on the Dark Side and Anton is dating Svetlana (the woman that was cursing herself on the First Movie) which is also his Partner.
Igor has turn into a very bad boy and has this very cool technique of attack.. He sticks a needle in a person´s body and sucks his/hers blood using a box of juice and a straw, no matter how far he is. And it doesnt matter when he used the needle ... If the needle touched you and Igor wants, you are screwed...This is a very important point towards the end of the movie. The movie begins in the past, just like the first movie, in some kind of asian war... and what are they fighting about, you must be asking yourself.. for the main caracther of the movie, the Chalk of Destiny... this chalk can change this, even the past and make ur wishes come true (well, almost all of them)... so who wouldnt want a piece of that Chalk around the appartment hum??!?!
Anyway, the fights between dark and "lighter" side continue and a couple of murders happen. And who gets the blame? thats right, our truly Anton. The dark side wants to take him to the Inquisition, which is so 12th century ! ! Anyways, of course poor Anton is being set up and in order to escape he has to (SPOILERS - so if you dont wanna know, dont read the rest of the paragraph) change body with Olga (the owl girl of the 1st movie). Its one of the funniest parts of the movie... Olga acting as Anton and Anton acting as Olga...very cool... !! but the worse part is yet to come.... where does Anton has to go in order to hide himself... oh yeah, in Sveta´s place (if you dont remember its Anton´s girlfriend)... So, girls will be girls and of course that Sveta will talk about her relationship with Anton with Olga (well, with Olga´s body, but its really Anton that is listening and reacting)... also, of course that Sveta will be more at ease near Olga (which means, undressing and such)...So you imagine how poor Anton will feel...!!! very funny...
Anyway, as you must already know, Igor is some kind of super being but in this movie we learn that Sveta is also one of those super beings. So, not only they dispute Anton´s "love" but they also have issues regarding dark and good side... Also, in this movie, Love seems to be in the air and even Kostya (Anton´s young vampire neighbour) falls in love with a very very wrong woman... Which is also an important part of the movie... I wont tell you more about the plot, who the killer is or even more about the Igor Vs Sveta situation... Curious? well, you really have to watch the movie and trust me, if you liked the 1st one you will love this one....
I loved the special effects, the humor, the actors (they are more "produced" in this movie - you will understand what I mean when you see it) and the soundtrack totally rocks (as it did in the 1st one)... I laughed a lot when the song "No1 likes me so I will just dance" was playing and when I saw Anton´s dancing...very cool...! ! The Russian really did a great job with this movie. I´ve heard that an American Version is gonna be made, well I dont think they will overcome the Russian version... ! I truly dont think so. As for me, I cant wait for a 3rd part... im very curious about it and I hope they can end this triology with golden key... ! ! So people, prepare yourselfs for a GREAT, AWESOME (and long) movie...!!
