Hard Candy Review

This low budget movie is a superb movie. When I saw the trailer it seemed very interesting so I called a friend and we went to check it out.
The base story is one of the most common stories of all... Internet Blind Dates.. We all know it and we´ve all (or most of us) done it. The problem here, is that its between a 13 year old girl and a 30ish year old dude. Yep, and the first thought that comes to ur mind is the correct one.... ! Pedophile.. ! ! How obvious can a guy be?!?!?
Anyway, the girl ends up in his appartment, making "screwdrives" (an alcohoolic drink - ive never tried it but It seems good) and posing for the guys photographic camera.. ! ! So, this sweet, innocent, vuberabel girl is doomed in the hands of a mean, sexual freak guy...! ! WRONG ! ! ! he is going on the trip of his life... ! she is a sadistic, manipulator, intelligent, bad ass "motherf*cker" girl... My kind of girl.. ! ! and she is gonna teach him a lesson that no1 will ever forget.. ! !
The acting is superb. Im officially a fan of ellen page (the actress)... she has the perfect perfil for this caracther.. she has such an innocent face. Not only she is so beautiful (one of the only girls that ive seen that looks hot with short hair)....and the freckels... jeeze, she is so cute... ! ! and she has such a trustworthy face, a "baby" facy. She is just like an angel. And she turns out to be quite the opposite. And she is so funny. She makes such cool jokes in the movie... and her perfomance..OMG... she is soooooooo natural, so... I dont even have words.. I even loved her voice. And for those who are going to watch the movie and wonder about her (the actress) real age, she is 19. Doesnt seem like it, I know......
The guy, is also a great actor. Even though he has a couple of problems keeping what belongs inside in is nose there (youll know what mean when you see the movie), which is so damn grosse, he was the right choise. And he has amazing blue eyes.. ! ! He is very good looking for a sick bastard. hehehe
Well, the scenes of the movie, the way that was recorded is awsome. I just loved it. The sound, fenomenal.
Peeps, I have to say that this movie hasnt got gore, blood, guts, monsters or ghosts.... It deals with the most real and scary horror of all.. the one humans do to each other.... even worse, the horror that humans do to children. So this movie is, not only a slap in the face to all those people that enjoy hurting kids. It shows that, and just like she says in the movie, what if the victim fights back.... and just like the promo sentence of the movie says : what if the red hood girl (i think its said like this in english) starts hunting the big bad wolf?
I give this movie not 2 but 6 thumbs up ! ! ! (i guess Ill ask my friends to help with the thumbs..hihi)... ! ! ok ok, bad joke I know ! ! ! It a simple but effective movie, without special effects, with lots of dialog, that settles basicly on the actor´s performance. It has some action too... I hope more movies like this continue to appear in the movie theathers... Movies like this, Oldboy, among others, are so worth seeying.. They dont have a big impact in the markting area, which is a shame coz lots of ppl would love it and wont even have a chance to know they exist....
So people, my advice, rush in to seeying this movie. I absolutly LOVED IT and I cant wait to have it on DVD...
And a small note : WAY TO GO ELLEN PAGE ! ! ! U TOTALLY RULE ! ! ! ( we never know, she might even check this website out... ;) )
