The Descent (2005) Review

8 out of 10 Skulls

This is my first review on this site so here goes. I'm from the U.K so I saw this movie last year when it came out over here. The film is a dark twissted look in to a trip in what turns into hell for the ladies. For me the worst parts were the feeling of being trapped in the caves , some great shots of the girls as they crawl through the tight spaces , this gave the film a very uneasy feeling & even made me start to panic (a little).

The director Neil Marshall does a great job of keeping the supense & making you jump at the right time, he even makes you care about the girls enough so you dont want them to die.  All in all the film is a great little british movie that shows we can make just as good scare flicks as anyone, from a personal view a preferred Neil Marshalls previous flim Dog Soldiers, thats because it was just so british (sense of humour). If you miss The Desent you will miss a little gem, so go on treat yourself & sit back & grip the arm rests of the chair , its time to desend!!!!
