Sleepy Hollow Review

10 out of 10 Skulls

This is a new twist on a very old tale. Tim Burton has taken the Washington Irving story and made it all um, you know...Timmy. This is like a dream. Of course everyone is familiar with the yarn about Ichabod Crane the skinny, scared school teacher that is terrorized by the local bully dressing up as the legendary Headless Horseman. But what if the story were real? And what if Crane was not a teacher but a ploice constable sent to solve the mysterious chain of decapitations in the small upstate New York town of Sleepy Hollow? I'll tell you what. Endless entertainment.

Johnny Depp is Crane and he is in Sleepy Hollow trying out his spiffy new detective kit. But what he finds is that there is much more to the legend. He finds himself reluctantly involved in a twisted scheme of blackmail and murder. And that ain't all because he still has to save his own head from that of the murderous horseman. Burton's vision comes through again with spectacular results.
