The Descent (2005) Review

The Descent is one of my favorite movies of all times..it totally kicks ass with all the scary graphics and amazing lighting effects.. This story is about 8 girls who are going for a caving adventure..One of them, Sarah, was going through a tough time cause her husband and child died when they crashed into a car and poles went clean through their heads. Gruesome, but worthwhile. The women meet up at some log cabins in the woods before going out to the Caves. Juno, the Japanese(or chinese) chick, who's their leader, decided not to go to the caves they were supposed to but instead to some unexplored ones. The group was struck by disaster when the exit to the outside caved in and they had to go looking for another. Only one problem, THEY DIDNT KNOW WHERE THE HELL THEY WERE!
After this came the scary discovery that they were not the only ones living in this cave system. The scene of the first actual sighting was awesome. They are all in the dark and surrounded by echoes made by the creature when Sarah turns her handycam to night mode and points it right at the beast. The *things* turned out to be some kind of less evolved humans, that were blind and had amazing hearing and stuff. The rest of the movies is basically about them running from the creatures but there are some very gruesome scenes in the movie so i'd suggest you not watch it if you don't have a strong stomach.
The first time i watched this movie was with my friends and we were all clutching each other and screaming like crazy! I don't wanna give away the surprise, but the ending was un-expected but a great way to end the movie.
The Descent is a must watch for all you Die Hard Horror Fanatics out there, i know I enjoyed it vErY much! But a word of caution, if you wanna go caving, i suggest you do it before the movie, not after watching it or then you'll totally change your about it. I know i did. btw, this was my first review for the movie so forgive me if you didn't *ahem* like it or anythin..
