Masters of Horror: Tobe Hooper - Dance of the Dead Review

7 out of 10 Skulls

I read a review somewhere that said after viewing this entry for the MOH series that person though Tobe Hooper and Robert Englund should give up making movies all together. I have to disagree, I think after The Toolbox Murders, Mortuary, and now Dance of The Dead Tobe is proving he has some life left in him after all. Don't get me wrong, none of the three are going to win any awards or be on the top of any lists but they were fun to watch and isn't that what we are all looking for, entertainment?

This is a post apocolyptic story of a girl that goes looking for trouble and finds it in a shady biker and a club called the Doom Room. The plot is a little more complicated then that but not much and the end is predictable. BUT, there is enough naked zombie chicks and conflict between the mom and daughter to keep you interested. When they get down to explaining what the Dance of The Dead is it's kind of twisted but I could totally see it happening and me wanting to go see it happen. It's kind of like the donkey show, does it really exist and if it does would I watch it? Yea probably. Does that make me a sick puppy or what!

Anyway, there are better entries in this series but this one is not bad at all. I didn't really like some of the quick movements the camera made and some of the weird flash things they did but I'm afraid I would have been bored in a few spots had it not been for those anoying little things. Don't be afraid to give it a shot if your bored or just a fan of the MOH series. You, like me will most likely watch all 13 episodes anyway so quit yer complaining.
