Saw 3 Review
Written by: TiM the Zombie
I would like to start off by saying how much I enjoy the Saw films. The original by James Wan is a masterpiece and the sequel by Darren Lynn Bousman is no exception. Well once again, Darren Lynn Bousman does it again with Saw 3. Except this time, its complete balls out.
Saw 3 starts off where the second let out. Its basically about Jigsaw and Amanda, who capture a young nurse named Lynn and tells her to keep him alive as long as it takes for Jeff to make it threw a series of tests. Only the tests arent for Jeff. They are all for the various people involved with Jeff's 8 year old kid's death. He must decide whether to forgive or seek revenge. A very grisly and depressing tale. I loved it.
The "games" in this film are completely insane yet brilliant. Gore hounds will definately not be let down. This film is gruesome, brutal, and very hard on the eyes. The FX were absolutely amazing. I'm still surprised as hell that this film got an R rating. The MPAA must have been drunk off there asses, because this is by far one of the most graphic films in a very very long time.
I know a lot of people werent to happy with the acting in the first films, but there is nothing wrong with the acting in the third installment. Shawnee Smith returns as Amanda, a side of her you'll never forget. Tobin Bell of course, as Jigsaw. The other leads also did terrific jobs. Thumbs up for casting.
The twist towards the end of this film is unthinkable just like the first two. Completely catches you off guard and is amazingly put together. Heads up for that, you'll never see it coming.
Overall this is a film that you dont want to miss. Saw 3 is just as good, if not better, than the previous two films. I highly suggest everyone to go check this one out immediently for you will not be dissapointed. Once again, you will get to see the mind of Jigsaw...litterally. That is all for now without giving to much away.
(PS, the first 15 minutes of this film are more graphic than the first two films combined)
