Feast Review

8 out of 10 Skulls

"Feast" is the nastiest, funniest creature-feature since "From Dusk Till Dawn". And just like that Rodriguez / Tarantino grossout vampire flick, it takes place at a seedy bar which gets invaded overnight by hungry creatures who crave human flesh. Actually, they crave alot more than that. You see they're also horny and the scenes in which they get it on provides the most tasteless scenes ever. What makes the movie work is the visceral directing by first-timer John Gulager. He gives the film's familiar formula a shot in the arm with fantastic scenes of over-the-top gore, sweaty suspense and hiliarous humor.

The movie also features great performances by the entire cast. But the stars of the show are undoubtedly the creatures themselves. They are nasty, inventive creations that will get under the viewer's skin. I personally thought the scene in which a baby creature thrusts its penis inside a woman's mouth was pushing it too far, but...hey, I didn't make it. Still, I'd say that if you enjoyed horror-thrillers like "Tremors" and "Night of the Living Dead", then "Feast" will have you glued to your seat. It's electric horror entertainment.

P.S. The writers will pen "Saw IV", so if you have any doubts that it'll suck, put it aside. It's going to be awesome.
