Grindhouse Review

8 out of 10 Skulls

First of all I am a female and I will probably be in the minority of reviewers. Grindhouse was an interesting experience to say the least. First is starts of with Planet Terror. This movie is action packed with plenty of blood and guts to go around and the sex was "toned down" thanks to a missing reel that also takes a chunk out of the plot which leaves the viewer wondering exactly what went on. Planet Terror had great characters that you go to know surprisingly well since the movie was in constant action. It did include some cheesy lines that made it even more fun to watch.

Then the second movie is Death Proof. A total 360 from Planet Terror but delivers in its own unique way. The plot is about Stuntman Mike who is played so very well by Kurt Russell stalking girls and murdering them using his "death proof" car. The first set of girls you can feel Mike watching them and the Butterfly scene was the best dialogue of Death Proof. The second set of girls involves 2 stuntwomen who decide to give Stuntman Mike a taste of his own medicine. Though many feel Death Proof was slow. I liked the building up of the characters especially during the first set of girls. There were trailers before and between each movie and I will rate them in order of appearance.

Machete -  Rodregiuez- 4 / 5 - After being set up and nearly killed, Machete seeks revenge on those who tried to kill him. They are making the movie due out sometime in 2008 and is going to be direct to video.

Werewolf Women of the SS -  Rob Zombie - 2 / 5 - Didn't like the trailer but you will if you like werewolves, half naked women, and commies.

Don't - Edward Wright - 3 / 5 - Hilarious trailer for everything you shouldn't do in a horror movie though it gets annoying after while

Thanksgiving - Dir: Eli Roth - 5 / 5 - Classic take on 70's horror movie. The most gore and peversion (if you catch it) you will ever see in 3 minutes.
