Evil Aliens Review
Written by: BlackDeathDamien
On reading about the details of this movie sounded really good and could turn out to be one of those must own and must see horror movies. But whenever i say this, it turns out that it's not that good at all. Well i was wrong on this case. Tonight i was able to watch Jake West's Evil Aliens. Jake West who had brought you Pumpkinhead: Ashes To Ashes, Razor Blade Smile, etc. Along with his upcoming movie coming out this year called Dog House. I have noticed that Goon had posted the DVD art for this movie. I was one of the lucky ones who actually just got this.
Here's the details about Evil Aliens:
Scalleum Island is also home to an ancient stone circle known as the 'Devils Teeth." This provides the sinister setting for the terrifying Alien abduction of local farm girl Cat Williams and her Hitchhiker boyfriend Angelo Jones. 'Weird Worlde' is a cable TV program that's having trouble with its ratings. Threatened with losing her job, presenter Michelle Fox needs to come up with something special. She puts a team together to investigate the 'Scalleum Incident'. It's an intriguing story with a twist, as Cat Williams's claims to not have just been abducted by aliens but also impregnated by them! Hence the cynical TV crew accompanied by actors to stage a dramatic reconstruction and UFO expert Gavin Gorman head off to the island. Tensions rise and things are about to come to a head when, the real stars arrive... Aliens, and they aren't friendly. In fact they are pure Evil! Set against the dramatic backdrop of the sinister farm and the 'Devils Teeth' stone circle, which holds the key to an ancient mystery, everything is now prepared for the last word in inventive and stylish survival horror. To survive, our eclectic team of characters will have to tool up with whatever weapons they can find, ranging from hammers to machetes, chainsaws to rotary tillers and even a combine harvester! Will they survive the Alien threat? Who will be abducted, mutilated, probed, and decapitated?
When it came down to the acting for this movie, i thought it wasn't all that bad at all. To me with how all the actors and actresses acted, to me it had that same 'Night of the Living Dorks' type of sense of humor. The type that it's a horror movie but we don't have to take it all to serious. Yeah it is a horror movie with some comedy rolled right into it. The 3 brothers, of the farm girl, were so damn hilarious. For comedic roles in this movie, they were the perfect fit. Not only did they act like mentally challenged people and also couldn't understand a word they were saying, they actually kicked some alien butts. But when it came down to when the aliens were coming after them, that was a little more serious take on it. I would have to say the best possible acting in this movie was the aliens. These were better looking and acting aliens i have seen in a movie for a long time.
Now when it came down to all the nitty gritty of all the Special F/X and props, that all came when the humans were fighting the aliens and also inside the alien ship. I thought everything was created exceptionally good. The outside of the ship was nothing to special it was cool in all but just ok. But now when it was inside the ship, i thought that was all put together perfectly. When it came down to the death scenes, i would have to say you couldn't get any better than any of the death scenes along with what the aliens did in their ship to the girl and her boyfriend. I'm not saying what b/c you'll have to find out when you see it. There was also a cool but wierd pregnancy transformation thing that the farm girl goes through.
I have never seen any of Jake West's movies, only heard of them. But after seeing this movie, i serious got to find and watch the movies he has done. Even though most of you people have seen the movie Pumpkinhead: Ashes To Ashes and didn't care for it. But i'm going to give it a shot and think what it's like. Jake West definitely did a wonderful job on directing this movie. This was by far in my opinion a movie that he will never forget. The camera movements, angles, and shots was done amazingly. The camera movements and the environments reminded of me of the same feel it had for the movie Undead. This definitely wasn't one of those movies that looked like someone took a video camera and was shooting it.
There was barely any music that was being played throughout the entire movie but when it came on, it was played just at the right time of the movie. Like when a death scene was about to happen and then this wierd happy popish type of music was playing and made the scene a more comedic role. When it came down to the sound F/X, it was sounded perfect. With the bones crushing, blood splattering, etc. Everything was perfect. Didn't find one bad thing about neither Special or Sound F/X.
Overall, when it came down to this movie, this is definitely a must see. When it comes out on DVD, definitely don't pass and overlook this movie. This movie has a mixture of couple of hot women, cool looking aliens that you definitely don't want to mess with or encounter, wicked death scenes, which the best comes when the aliens kill, and a some comedy. I am definitely glad that i didn't over see this movie at all. There was not one single bad thing i didn't like about this movie.
