Dawn of the Dead Review

What can I say about this movie?
It's an absolute MASTERPIECE! a true horror classic!
The plot follow a group of people secluded, or better trapped, in a mall while outside all hell breaks loose as the earth is walked by the living dead.
The movie begins in a TV station in which a debate is going on regarding the reasons of the epidemic that brought the dead back to life.
We are then catapulted to follow a blitz of the army in a building where all the inhabitant have already turned into flesh-eating hungry zombies. The events then focus on this group of people ( a reporter and her boyfriend, a soldier, a black guy...) that escape the mayhem by entering a shopping mall... Here the will try to fight the zombie and to recreate their own lives or at least a shadow of their former existences....
The fun part about this movie is to see these people get along with all the environment fo the mall step by step and eventually also enjoying it.They will get used to live in there and try to enjoy life as much as possible...Is interesting to see how the characters develop in the process as they build their own kind of house, comfortable to live in and as the engaged couple try to have their romance moments.
In all this, which I think is remarkable already, we have to add the soundtrack of the flick that is performed by German band Goblin.True artist, reknown for their collaborations with Dario Argento that are able to give the right kick ( and they really kick some major ass!!) to the all opera. With their sound they give the exact pace and atmosphere that the viewer expect to have in that particular moment...Just brilliant!
In therm of actor performances I think they are all well done and appropriate. A particular mention, in my opinion must go to Ken Foree which for me is the lead character of the movie.
As for the make-up, maybe it might look kind of cheesy but I think that after all this blue faced zombies get the job done very well. One of my favourite scenes is the one in which Scott Reiniger who plays Roger, already wounded and contaminated by the undead, rise again from the dead to be shot immediately by Ken Foree....
In conclusion Dawn of the dead is a movie that every horror fun MUST see at least once in is lifetime ; If you don't like I don't know what to tell you, man!!!
