American Psycho Review

This cheeky movie is based on a novel that is seemingly impossible to translate into film, but this does come close.  Christian Bale is a genius, and he pulls off the highly ironic Patrick Bateman. 

His surrounding characters disappoint, especially Reese Witherspoon's Evelyn, and the setting does not feel quite sincere.  The only moment that captures the decadent 80s for me is when Patrick is dancing and expounding the brilliance of Huey Lewis.  But how could you not enjoy a psycho movie featuring Bale?
