Shredder probably shouldn't be half as enjoyable as it is, but somehow it manages to be one of the better non-series 'slasher' type horror movies out there. Admittedly, it doesn't approach the level of the best chapters in the big ongoing series ("Friday The 13th", "Nightmare on Elm Street") but on the other hand it's actually better than a number of the weaker entries in the big series. Quite a bit better, in fact.
The plot is about a group of teens/early twenties characters heading up to an abandoned ski/snowboard camp for a weekend of fun who instead end up being preyed upon by a masked assailant.
The acting in Shredder succeeds in building an opinion about each character, you either like or hate them mainly because of their personal spark. Scott Weigner delivers a decent performance as the lead male Cole. Brad Hawkins is OK as Christophe. Lindsey McKeon is good as Kimberly the spoiled rich blonde. She's incredibly hot in this flick, she's very sexual and seemed hungry for sex. She teases the male audience by walking around in her sexy as hell red underwear and bikini. She has hot sex in a hot tub, and takes a shower but refuses to appear nude! We don't get to see her naked nowhere in the film. Still she deserves a special mention for being that hot! And her acting delivers.
Don't expect it to terrify you out of your wits, but don't pass it up because of that. This is one of the better slasher to come out in the last few years. Overall I rate this movie 8/10.Recommended.
