Feast Review

Ok so the movie starts in this old bar out in the middle of god knows where with a really wierd introduction of the characters. You get a complete frame freeze with the headshot of the character and a description of their name, occupation and life expectancy. I told myself alright, its time to prepare for another 3rd rate horror film until I realized what was going on. They filled my head with facts and turned around to do the opposite! A sort of irony if you will. Movie was filled with irony and quite commical at times. Hero dies, geek lives and the waitress was smoking a sig durring sex, I mean what the hell.
First look we get of the "monsters" was this small tiny little thing, faster than the speed of light. He runs around the bar for a few minutes ripping heads and limbs off, hitting arteries everytime with blood just spewing out, until he finally takes a rest humping the crap outta the trophy deer head on the wall. Believe it or not thats not the only monster hump scene in the movie. The rest of the family monsters wore some sort of animal skin cloak unless they were feeding, thats when you got to see the true beast within. Which in my opinion was pretty well designed.
The special effects fills the needs for any gore whore. Limbs ripped off, heads flopping around, blood gushing and even monster testicles rolling down the stairs.
The characters also fit into the movie perfectly. They all played their roles to a "T" and were a big part in keeping the flow as the story was told.
The only problem I had with the film is I was left empty at the end with one single question. Where in the world did the monsters come from? They just seemed to appear out of know where all pissed off but I guess that adds to the mystery of the movie. Two thumbs up.
