3 out of 10 Skulls

One of John Carpenter's first is his worst. First of all i must say this is a dumb movie and how it got so big and got so many sequels i will never know. Because the only thing good i see about this film is its music. This movie is flat out boring no good special fx nothing scary about this movie unless your a 2 year old and you don't know what your watching and the mask scares you cause it looks so fake a 2 year old might think its funny seeing a guy with funny hair in a white mask walking around acting stupid.

Truth is i watched this movie when i was 6 years old and i was bored to tears. I was hoping to see a monster behind a mask not a retard that never shows his face. But it is what it is and somehow alot of people like it. Don't get me wrong i know this is one of John Carpenter's first and like anybodys first it was made on a tight budget he worked with what he had i guess and from the looks of it Mr Carpenter made a smart move.

John Carpenter has made alot of good movies only this one and another called They Live I don't like. I'm not telling you not to watch it cause there are alot of people that love this film and you might be one of them. I'm just saying from the bottom of my heart I see nothing so great about this flick.

I wish John Carpenter would have wasted his time making sequels to his better films like The Fog or The Thing a Ghost from Mars 2 would be nice to see anything but more Halloween movies. If your new to horror movies and you hear a John Carpenter movie is the real deal to watch no lie John Carpenter is the real deal to horror movies John Carpenter is the man. But if you pick Halloween to be one of the first Carpenter movies to see don't let it run you away cause John Carpenter don't shine to much on this one like he does a few years after.

I give this movie a 3 because its made by the man himself John Carpenter and its one of his first. The music in the movie may not be to creepy but the music is a classic and this movie is just the lame start to many awesome wonderful Carpenter films to come.
