White Noise 2 : The Light Movie Details: DVD, Theatre Date, News, Trailers & More White Noise 2 Review
8 out of 10 Skulls
Written by: prddad

I love that friend of mine...dropping off discs w/no labels, advising me to watch it, give my feedback. So, for the second time (there's more, I'll get to those at a later date), I put the disc in, and ready myself for some dumb movie. For a change, I was hoping it was BENJI THE HUNTED, so I can drink and pretend Benji gets run over (don't get all angry with me, you've hoped Benji would find himself underneath the tire of a Taurus or a Corolla as well). But nope, I instead get this movie: a movie not out yet, never went to the US theatres, and after watching it fully, I know why...

Plot...a man's family dies, and he dies as well, but comes back (not supernaturally, but you know, sees-the-light thingy, then the doctor's save him). But he doesn't come back unscathed: he is able to see ghosts w/o the help of a video recorder (unlike in the first one where the main guy had to record the white noise, then play it back). Freaky things start to happen. Ok, now that I got the jist of it out of the way, I have to say that for originality, it blows. I mean it blows. It blows worse than a chapped hooker. BA-DA-BING!. Come on, you saying you couldn't find another way to tie in the first movie and the second? I like those types, similiar to SAW, where it's a continuous story. This makes it seem like they went back to the drawing board (aka: first movie), and decided to change this, this, this, but keep the rest.

Acting...let's see, Nathan Fillion (FIREFLY captain) was in it, minus the humor (boooooo). Katee Sackhoff (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) was there with pinkish highlights (mmmmm). Everyone else, who cares. Katee....mmmmmm. Cough, um, no one looked like they were just there for a paycheck, which is good. Acting alone, this should have gone to the theatres...

Nudity...none, good... Gore/Scares...not really, but the usual freaky shit from the TV's are back, and better than the first. No, wait, nothing could freak me out more than those f*cking ghosts from the first one, those 3 or 4 shadowy ghosts, that just pop up randomly...shiver...

Bottom line...I rate it an 8, and normally I wouldn't buy this when it comes to DVD, but I have to. It's worth renting (eventually) and checking out on your own, but it doesn't make any landmark scares you'll talk about a year from now. What it gives you is a different side to WHITE NOISE...just not all memorable though...
