The Rising Dead Review

I picked this indie film up at my local Hollywood Video thinking it might be worth a shot. It was horrible, on the cover it lies by saying more zombies then 28 Days Later and Land of the Dead combined!!! I counted maybe 20 or 30 zombies, give or take a few.  This horryfing indie film gives independent movies a bad name.  No surprise to me that this wasnt picked up by Loinsgate or image. 

The story is somewhat original Mr. Blake is a surviver of a deadly plane crash on its way to underground base that can survive up to 300 people for 3 years. The outbreak of zombies  is caused from nuclear explosions and Mr. Blake and a kid with a walker, a little girl and the kids mother are all that is left from the crash. They walk around this tropical environment looking for this base, fighting the army of the dead.

The acting sucked so bad I mean they were just talking normally the main character Mr. Blake was so annoying he was a narrarator as he killed zombies and the movie was focused on him. I hated him im glad he died at the end cuz he deserved it. He was this John Cena wannabe tough guy. Have a Character you want to see live not someone your glad is gonna die. No panic what so ever and I know if I was just in a plane crash id be shaking still. They were as calm as anything, and it was just like they were talkign they filmed them. Acting in Indie films usally isnt that great but Jesus Christ this is the worst film with the worst acting Ive scene in a while.

I thought Alien vs. Predator 2 was bad with CGI, this film makes AVP look like it has the best CGI ever. This entire film was nothing but CGI and it had this weird look to the movie that made the picture horrible. It looked like it was recorded on a VCR. The speical effects were CGI and horrible.

The Directors the Cousin Brothers sucked are directing this. Maybe this was jsut for fun but if it was release on youtube dont give it a DVD release that was stupid on their part. They tried to be professional directors with some desent shots but the look and sound of the movie was horrible, this could have been a decent film if they tried a little harder. The first few minutes of the movie were good then the zombies came and it ruined it. The zombies tried to look like classic Romero zombies but a failure.

Liek i said it looked horrible the cinematography was the worst i have ever scene. You have see it to beleive it. Sound sucked the music score wasnt scary it was more of a action film score. So far worst film Ive scene in 2008 this actally makes Day of the Dead 2 look good, thats actally a better movie then this piece of crap. At least it had some ok acting and some gore and it wasnt all CGI like this. My advise if you see this stay away from it dont even get anythign near it, its that bad. It doesnt even deserve to get 2 thumbs way down its that bad. STAY AWAY, NEED A BETTER ZOMBIE FILM?? STICK TO ROMERO!!!
