Day of the Dead (2008) Review

This may contain spoiler!. This is the remake of George A. Romero Day of the Dead which was the third movie in the dead series and this remake is not connected to Dawn of Dead Remake in 2004. I don’t know why I am calling this a remake, when the plot and characters in this movie are totally different from the original.

The movie opens where a Teenager Trevor and his girlfriends are at his house also with his best friend with his girlfriends while they are on the sofa, the best friend nose starts to bleed then they start arguing and are told to leave by Trevor. As the couple are still arguing and then she ends up walking home alone in the wood, then she sees Something in a long white coat then she starts to runing and falls to the ground then get drags away screaming.

The movie then goes to a number of people who are stuck in traffic as the military have closed the road, Trevor sister is one of the military crew, when she gets home,  she sees her brother on the sofa with his girlfriends not looking after their sick mum, Their mum who also get a nose bleed so they take her to the hospital and when they reach the hospital they notice that all most everyone there has got a nose bleed.

All of a sudden the ones that had a nose bleed freeze they don’t move a single muscle and then you can see there eyes turn into ice or something.

Then they all start to attack everyone in the hospital, some every good gory scene which also involves one zombie that can crawl on hospital roof fast, which made me laugh.

Then the military leader is attacked by the zombies as the rest of team have got away from the zombies, meanwhile Trevor and his Girlfriend are on street of hell, and they get into the DJ Station just in time then they find one Married couple and The Owner of the house who let them in. Back to the hospital rest of military crew need to get out of the hospital and when they do, which has got to be the most action packed scene I have ever scene in any horror movie, Blood, body’s and head flying all over the place, I loved that scene but some might find it cheesy.

I don’t what to ruin the movie for you, This movie is very entertaining, If you are huge fan of George A. Romero or if you like slow zombies I would say give this movie a miss As the Zombies are total different They are scary but nothing like you ever seen before as they Run, Jump like frogs, Crawl on roofs and are Smart too. The things I didn’t like in this movie was that fact they had some silly dump scare scene that do not work and One or two actors can been annoying at times but rest of the cast can act. I enjoyed the movie. This movie is NOT for everyone. I give 7/10
