Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Review

I had VERY high expectations for this movie. It is one of the most famous horror movies of the 70s, and had spawned several sequals and a remake with its own prequal. I wasn't really impressed by this movie when I first saw it, and I really hated it. I don't know if I was in a bad mood that day or what was up. It isn't a bad movie, but it isn't a great movie either.
I thought that some of the actors were good, but not great, and that other actors were terrible. The sad thing is that I thought that the worst actor had the most screen time later in the movie. Screaming is one thing I can't tolerate in movies unless it is done right. It isn't done right at all in this movie. Screaming is annoying, and it is constant through the last half of the movie.
The camera work and the camera angles were good. One thing I didn't really like was the music. Wait a minute.... WHAT MUSIC? Yea. There is very little, if any music in this movie, and that really blows for me.
Overall, this was a pretty fun movie to watch. I just wasn't scared by it. I thought that the way some of the characters were dug into where really good, which is something that a lot of movies lack. I thought this movie could also do with some better acting, more music, and less screaming.
