Scream (1996) Review
Written by: chris_gottschalk2
This is my review of the teen-slasher movie, Scream. The acting in this movie is overall good. I was impressed that Wes could actually find some really good actors of their age in this time period. The cast fits together well, and with the dialog given, the acting is almost flawless.
I thought that there was a lot of unneeded humor in this movie. It just didn't really fit in with the whole atmosphere of the movie. In fact, the humor kind of changed the atmosphere to where it kind of made me think I was watching Scary Movie 3. That is why I liked the opening scene of Scream the best. The movie didn't have time to change from a horror movie into a horror-comedy, and it had a lot of suspense.
Other than that, this movie pretty much fits into the slasher genre. It has some pretty good gore effects compared to other movies of the 90s, and also had some really good dialog. This movie made me afraid to answer the phone for about a week. If you are a suspense fan, then you should definatly check this movie out.
