Halloween 2 (1981) Review

Unlike some other sequals, this movie is pretty loyal to the first Halloween movie. This movie had Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis again, so the acting was absolutly great. Some of the new actors casted really hit the right place, too. The person who played Micheal Myers wasn't near as good as Nick Castle was, so that was a really big letdown right there.
The scares in this movie were really good. The suspense in this movie was almost as good as the original Halloween. Almost the entire movie takes place in a confined space, so you never really know when Miceal Myers is suddenly going to jump out at you.
I didn't really like the fact that they really messed with the theme song from the original Halloween. The original theme song was much more creepier, and really set the mood for the movie. This movie felt a lot like the original, but some it was screwed up by the new music.
A lot of the tricks that John Carpenter used were used in this movie. There was always kind of a blue backlight to the whole movie, which really gave a feel to it. I thought that this movie was overall a good sequal, but nothing that could even begin to touch the original.
