Day Of The Dead (2008) Review

Let me start with this, this is not a re-make of Romero's Day of the dead!!!! I am not sure why they used the tiltle, because there are almost no similarities. The movie only gets into a bunker in the last 15 minutes or so. I think this movie will recieve much criticism because of the title and "re-make" status. Actually, if they had chosen an original title, I feel this would be an above average zombie movie.

The movie is well made, with fairly decent production values and O.K. acting. They have created a whole new type of infected here, with them being fairly intelligent, very active( almost super-human), and still retaining parts of their personalities. Bud being a vegetarian zombie with a crush being the most obvious. There are many faults with this movie, but i think if you go into it not expecting "Day of the dead", you might be pleasantly surprised. I was.

I only wonder, yet again, what kind of movie I, or any other true zombie fan, could produce given the same resources as these people were given. Zombies crawling on the ceiling??!!!!
