Awake Review

I was actually interested in seeing this movie and finally got to last night. I was getting into, in the beginning, but only continued watching it just because I had already started and didn't feel like turning it off. It wasn't a complete bomb, I just wasn't impressed with the climax and ending. I love Terrance Howard so that kept me enjoying the movie as much as I could.

It did have a creepy effect on me when Hayden Christensen was put under but feeling the terror of "anasthesia awareness". To watch and listen to this paralyzed patient being aware of everything going on during open heart surgery was enough to make my stomach turn and to be totally creeped out.

When the tables were turned and the audience is finally aware of the whole plot with Jessica Alba marrying Christensen was a bomb. I don't know what I was expecting, but when I saw this, I was totally turned off. I think it was partially due to the fact that I was slightly turned on in the beginning with Christensen bathing and Alba joins him for a hot make-out session. Besides that and the total creepiness I felt, I have to give this one a thumbs down. Overall, good acting, bad plot!
