Nightmare Man Review

This movie only gets 2 out of 5 hairy eyeballs from me. The characters in “Nightmare Man” are hokey at best. The main character, Ellen (played by Blythe Metz) is an incredibly annoying over actor throughout the film. Her scream hurt my spine, and not in a good way. Her husband is a very foreign (maybe Spanish?) guy with a heavy accent, and his name is . . . Bill?! The unfortunate group of mostly naked partiers at the cabin in the middle of nowhere looked thirty-something and were playing spin the bottle, hmm . . . Our villain runs funny, and his demon face is only a little creepy.
So, of course, the married couple runs out of gas and gets stranded. How dumb do you have to be to run out of gas on a planned road trip? (That question is answered later in the film.) The so-called “Nightmare Man” kept almost and kind-of sort-of attacking our ‘heroine’ for the first chunk of the movie. It was driving me crazy, like, “Do something – anything – already!” Whether Ellen is crazy or there really is someone after her is another maddening nuisance for some time. There are some semi-decent kills in the show. There is a twisty ending to the film, but the cheese factor ruined it for me.
