Automaton Transfusion Review

This is a movie that I couldn't wait to see since the get go. I think it was the title of the film that really lead up the anticipation of it. I didn't know anything about it except there were zombies in it, so thats a plus right there and also the two words Automaton Transfusion together just sounds so wild.
This movie is about a few high schoolers who have to save their town from zombies / reanimated dead bodies or it's the end of the world as we know it! It all began in the 70's when the army was working secretly on a way to reanimate dead bodies to fight in wars instead of using red blooded alive humans. This project was given up because they couldn't control the zombies the way they hoped to. What did they expect, a zombie is a zombie after all. Now they think it's time to reopen that project and see if they can get it right this time, so they use this town called Grover City as their testing grounds. Well they still can't control the dead so all hell breaks loose and it's up to those teenagers to save the day.
For an Indie film I can tell that alot of love for the genre was put into this movie. Theres nothing really new but it was interesting to see their ideas put in a movie. The acting was OK and that never bothered me since I've seen way worse, so that was fine to me. Some of the gore scenes were done well, like this girl gets her bottom jaw ripped out and a few others. I know gore doesn't make a movie but this one needed gore in it to give it some kind of reputation, believe me.
OK now the worse part of Automaton Transfusion is the way it was filmed. I don't know why they chose to film it the way they did but it looks weird because of the jerkiness of the action and it's almost hard to watch. To give an example, it looks like they cut out every other frame or it was filmed using an old hand crank movie camera. This movie should have been filmed using normal methods and that would have put it higher on my horror indie scale.
I still think it's a cool indie movie and if your into independent horror movies you might just love it, or not. Like I said the main thing I thought was bad was the jerkiness of the film which might be a major problem but once you get past that, it's not that bad of an indie zombie flick. The ending, well...... bring on part 2... without that jerkiness.
