10 out of 10 Skulls

BORDERLANDgets 5 out of 5 hairy eyeballs from me.

The brutal “Hostel-esque” violence hits you right at the beginning – a VERY vicious scene! Then there is the character development of the three college kids for a bit. Their acting was pretty damned good and I liked the way that the three interacted. One of them even made a CBC (comic-book culture) reference about Leatherface. I always love when they bring other horror movies into conversations during a horror film.

Sean Austin’s performance was killer! I have loved that guy since Goonies, and it was cool to see him as a cruel and malevolent character. The dialogue in this show was very colorful and really painted a picture of what was going on throughout the show. The bad guys were really dreadful dudes, and the leader was a total freak. It was great.

Borderland had wicked gore with artistic kills that had me cringing. It was fast-moving and kept my complete attention throughout, and I loved the ending! It had me screaming at the TV, so I had a ‘screaming’ good time!

The special features were excellent with a bunch of information regarding the actual events that this movie is based on – very interesting.
