Dark Water Review

"Dark Water" is another pointless Japanese remake. I think the only reason why it was remade was because it is was written by the same guy who wrote "The Ring"
On the DVD cover it boasts a quote from a writer from "Maxim" who says :
"Even Hitchcock could not have done it better."
I take this as an insult because there was nothing thrilling or compelling about this lackluster remake.
The movie is about a woman ( Jennifer Connelly) who is recently divorced and moves into a dilapidated apartment building with her 5 year old daughter. The woman becomes concerned when a leak from the upstairs apartment grows larger and larger despite her attempts to fix it. She begins to see another 5 year old girl wandering around the building and soon realizes that there are forces unknown that are the cause of the mysterious dark water that leaks from her ceiling.
The only thing that kept me interested in this movie was to find out the ending. I don't recall ever being creep out by this more. The movie played out more like a thriller if that. I would only recommend movie if your deathly afraid of water or an ocassional leak in the ceiling.
