The Cottage(2008) Review

The british invasion in horror films are starting to come back around in the past few years with the likes of 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, and now with this film called The Cottage. The film is a horror/comedy sorta like Shaun of the Dead was. It's about 2 brothers who kidnap a strip club owner's stepdaughter and hold her for ransom at a cottage inn in the countryside. But she's a feisty girl who doesn't take shit from anyone and starts becoming aggressive on them and fighting them.

The brothers and their accomplice which is the girl's stepbrother start to bungle and mess up their operation. What they don't know is that their next door neighbor at a nearby farm is a psychotic Leatherface/Jason Voorhees type killer lol. Soon bodies start getting chopped up in many different ways including guns for hired who are after the brothers for the kidnapping. The movie is funny in many parts and the kills are really gory and good in the latter parts of the film.

The film stars Jennifer Ellison(from 2004 Phantom of the Opera), Andy Serkis(from The Lord of the Rings), Reece Shearsmith(from Shaun of the Dead), and even has a cameo from Doug Bradley(from Hellraiser series) in it. If you liked Shaun of the Dead then I think you will like this film.
