1 More Reason Not To Hate The French:
I don't know what got in the water over there but the french have continually churned out fascinating horror tales in the last few years.
This cautionary tale opens to 3 horny guys at a niteclub on the make. They meet Jasmine, shy and sensual. She Invites the boys back to her small village replete with inbred euro-weirdos you pray don't really exist but probably do.
Meet housekeeper Joseph. Joseph makes Groundskeeper Willie look like a church matron. Despite offering his niece up for funnin' and his liberal use of racial slurs you're quite taken with Joseph's unbridled enthusiasm and lust for life. Skinny dipping, water wrestling, head injuries and basilisk appreciation on tap.
We're not in Kansas anymore.
After a pleasant meal some chromosome challenged hooligans start prankin' and Joseph finally drops his marbles. This film has it all: hallucinatory camera work, tight suspense, sexually charged believable characters and situations and a decent ending. Add equal parts unease and dread, a generous portion of of depravity, some demonic
incest for zest, and just a hint of pooch-pull and you're in for a real treat.
Written, directed & Produced by Kim Chapiron (No idea either but a name to watch) with a tour-de-force performance from Vincent Cassel as the loveable J.
Gratuitous french wigga rap, gratuitous gas & dash, gratuitous rat entrails, gratuitous birthing fluids, gratuitous Joseph tongue. Check it out.
A tough guy learns his lesson indeed - put it in your queue now.
