Death Race (2008) Review

Not sure if this is considered horror rather then that it's most likely to be a Action Packed Thrill Ride for adrenaline junkies. This insanely new vision from Paul Anderson remakes a classic film one that I have yet to see staring Stallone.

The layout: After being framed for the murder of his wife Jensen Ames is sent to prison. While at prison the thrill seeking, money hungry bitch they call the warden asks him to become the new Frankenstein for her own baby Death Race which is a heavy action race broad casted on the internet. Each driver races til the death, who will survive this death race?

Well, first what a film we have here. I mean action packed thrill ride is written all over it. I absolutely had my ass at the edge of my seat the entire time of this movie. This was an insane movie and will please pretty much any action junkie out there. This makes Live free or Die Hard look like a Disney film. At least thats what I thought since I saw about 10 children in the theater with me and I dont mean 12 and 13 years olds I mean 3 to 8 year olds watching Death Race. I was shocked that this was happening but I don't care I'll take my children to see movies like this so who gives a fuck.

The film stars Jason Statham who is a brillent actor, I have enjoy most of his films including Transporter, WAR , Snatch, and of course Crank. He is a great actor and I really enjoy his films. PAul Anderson Like him hate him I think he's a decent director. I enjoyed AVP, Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat.

The good thing was the action sequences were just awesome. Going home some guy was going slow in front of me and I wanted to blow his car outta the way, the movie gets in your head and just makes you want to do that. But of course you can't so don't try it. I didn't like the CGI in the film, a little too fake but an inprovment from my last review for Mirrors, at least here it had some real effect to it. Also it had very comic book like tone of the picture, A little like 300.

If you're a fan of the original, its hard for me to tell you if you'll like this one cause I didn't see it but if you like films such as Shoot em Up, Smokin Aces, Fast and the Furious, you will sure like this film. Other then that if your ify wait for the DVD or watch it online.
