Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer Review

10 out of 10 Skulls

Finally, a new horror release that I can actually say is a great movie! In my opinion this is the best Horror movie since the 2007 Halloween remake. I had very high hopes going into this movie since everyone was giving it such good reviews and I'm not dissapointed.

After witnessing the brutal murder of his family when he was a boy, Jack Brooks(Trevor Matthews) is left with an unquenchable fury. Now working as a plumber, Jack attempts to fix his professor's plumbing, but in the process accidently awakens an ancient evil. Prof. Crowley(Robert Englund) then becomes possessed and starts to transfer into an evil monster. Only Jack can stop this monster by using his inner rage to his advantage.

To start off with the acting by co-producer and co-writer Trevor Matthews is great, Robert Englund also does a terrific job, and bascically everyone else in the movie does a great job. The next thing I really like about this movie is the special FX. As far as I can tell there is none of that shitty CGI that we all hate. Every thing is done the way it should be done with make up and costumes. Another great thing about this movie is that it is hilarious, but not in a bad way. Everytime that guy tried to talk after being punched in the throat  really cracked me up, as well as the scene where Jack is talking to his counselor about the egg rolls. Another way I can tell that this is a great movie is that the 85 minutes goes by really fast, and you never want it to end.

At first I was going to give this movie 9 skulls, but I couldn't think of a reason not to give it 10. So if you haven't seen Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, than I highly recommend that you do so. Can't wait to see the sequel!
