Cannibal Holocaust Review

Oh, Cannibal Holocaust, what more can I say other than...BRILLIANT!!!!

For years and to this day, Cannibal Holocaust has constantly been rated as one of the most notorious exploitation movies of its time and of all time.

The movie starts off as a couple of people putting together what footage was gained in the amazon. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, so I forget who the guy is putting together the clips. What they find is simply shocking!!!

I have watched countless horror movies for 20 years now, and this is one of two horror movies that made me sick to my stomach (Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door). What really stood out wasn't the movie being violent as in people to people violence, but the animal violence. I love animals so much and watching this movie, especially the turtle scene, just turns my stomach.

Of course, the movie shows how being the powerful white man with guns into the amazon jungle turns people into monsters.

The movie gained a lot of it's buzz from the director getting arrested at the premier. He did such a convincing job at "killing" the people in the movie, the actors actually had to appear before a grand jury in Italy to clear the director.

This movie, at the end of the day, is not the best scripted or acted movie of all time, but its over the top violence makes it a must have for any serious horror collector, or a must rent for the casual collector who are reluctant to spend 20 on an "older" horror movie.

Oh, they just rereleased a special edition of this DVD and it is so worth it, it's only 20 bucks at Best Buy or Circuit City, pick it up!!!
