Cannibal Holocaust Review

So after hearing the rumors about the grotesque nature of this movie, and how absolutely gory it was, i was intrigued. So while i was in Europe last year, i picked it up (since it is banned here in the States from what i hear). After watching this movie, i understand why. This is possibly the most disturbing movie i've ever seen....and I love it.
Imagine the Blair Witch Project in terms of cinematography. Same shaky camera with a bunch of morons operating them. A few students go in search of a tribe of cannibals. After a while, they end up missing, and a new person is sent to the place to find the missing teens. During his time there, he interacts with the tribes (by having the women play with his penis and such like any man would have them do), among other things. However, while he's there, he notices several disturbing things such as a woman having rocks shoved into her vagina for cheating on a man (i think that was it), and even see's a woman with a rock shoved through her vagina up through her mouth. Those are two of the nasty images this movie brings you. In the end, the man finds the video camera of the teens, brings it back to the states, and you see the fate of the teens which is very different from the Blair Witch Project, because you ACTUALLY SEE what happens.
The acting is what you would expect, nothing fantastic, but not horrible. The people at times (especially the tribeswomen) make you feel horrible for what is happening to them (such as the rape scene which is worse than the one in The Last House on the Left in my opinion). Other than that, people have asked whether this is real or not, even my roommate after he saw this movie. People are that intrigued, disgusted, and confused about this movie. This is the movie the Blair Witch Project tried to be (god, i hate repeating this movie over and over).
Overall, it was a good movie. Not really a horror whatsoever, but very messed up. One of the nastiest films i've ever seen, but i'm very fortunate to have seen. There is not that much blood as i thought there would be, but the overrall nature of the film is very mindboggling. If you are lucky enough to see this movie anywhere, BUY IT! It is very much worth adding to your collection, although people will think you're a freak if you let them know you own it and after they've watched it. So if you are a horror fan, this is a must see. SO GO FIND IT!
